Password Security Management
Two Factor / Strong Authentication:
Authentication is the cornerstone of any vigilant network security solution. And the authentication method used to protect the vast majority (90+%!) of networks (user names and passwords) is a 50 year-old solution designed when there were no networks, no Internet… in fact, next to no computers!
Passwords suffer from a number of weaknesses that make them an ineffective security measure for your network - they are easy to steal, easy to hack and hard to remember. The result is both reduced network security and increased help-desk costs for resetting passwords.
This secure method of dual factor authentication (DFA) does what static passwords cannot, it gives you the confidence and peace-of-mind that a user logging on to the network, really is who he or she claims to be and not someone just using a stolen, lost or shared password.
CRYPTOCard is a leader and innovator in Dual Factor Authentication (DFA) /& Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) with our multi-award winning server and managed services based solutions.
Password Management for Privileged accounts:
Today, in most organizations, we find that people use the same password value for many systems and devices. This reuse creates a common security hole that can be exploited by anyone who has had access to the systems. System intruders use valid credentials to log in as a privileged user and a target system because the privileged password was either the default value provided by the manufacturer or was very weak, easy to guess, or it simply hasn’t been changed in years.
While all of the platforms accessed via a privileged password are critical and vulnerable, a particularly area of vulnerability are embedded application passwords in applications and many other application servers. When two unattended software applications connect, they require a username and a password, which are often stored in clear text or embedded in the application code, configuration file, or script. Such situation poses serious security risks and an untold number of compliance violations as these powerful, embedded passwords are gradually distributed undetected throughout an organization.
Cyber-Ark Enterprise Password Vault and Application Identity Management (AIM) enables organizations to secure, manage, automate, store, protect and log all activities associated with privileged, shared and elevated accounts.
Secure File Exchange / Sensitive Document Vault:
Modern organizations are becoming more and more dependent on their ability to exchange and share information with their partners, customers and subcontractors. Examples of day-to-day file transfer needs vary among all verticals, and include distribution of financial statements to customers, management documents shared with senior management and board members; highly-sensitive clinical trial information and medical records are shared among research laboratories, medical professionals and federal institutions. This increasing dependency calls for secure and reliable management solutions that will address the many operational, technical and legal challenges that arise when having to share or exchange information with users and systems outside of the organization.
Cyber-Ark Inter-Business Vault provides a secure Managed File Transfer solution enabling organizations to manage exchange of business information.
